Q. Why does a fire engine sometimes respond with the ambulance on a medical call?

 

A. It depends of the severity of the problem. People who have life threatening medical problems also need to have several procedures done simultaneously. The personnel on the fire engine respond to assist the ambulance crew provide those procedures.

 

Q. Why do they take a fire engine to assist the ambulance? Why not take a different vehicle?

 

A. The next call we may receive while we are out might be for a fire, or car crash, or another medical call, the fire engine has equipment on it for the crew to be able to handle the next call whatever it may be.

 

Q. Do I need a permit to burn in the city?

 

A. Yes they are free and are good for the year. All regulations are printed on the permit. They may be obtained at the Fire Department  Monday thru Friday 8am to 5PM. Click here for permit information
