Medal of Honor |
|
This medal is awarded to members who in
the line of duty perform an act far above and beyond the normal call of
duty and due so under extreme personal risk, rescue or attempted rescues of
trapped firefighters and/or trapped civilians. |

Medal of Valor |
|
This medal is awarded to members who on
or off duty perform an act far above and beyond the normal call of duty
and due so under significant personal risk, with bravery and involving a high degree
initiative and/or capability. |

|
Distinguished Service Medal |
|
This medal is awarded to members who on
or off duty perform an act far above and beyond the normal call of duty
and due so under moderate personal risk involving bravery and involving a high
degree of initiative and/or capability. |

Meritorious Service Medal |
|
This medal is awarded to members who on
or off duty perform an unusual act or service worthy of recognition that
promotes good will and reflects highly on the Watertown Fire Department. |

Life Saving Medal |
|
This medal is awarded to members who are
involved in he successful resuscitation of a patient who was without
pulses and respirations, and the patient is resuscitated in the field and
makes a complete and full recovery with little to no detrimental effects. |

Unit Citation Medal |
|
Recognition of an entire company for
outstanding company operations on an incident that was primarily dependent
upon teamwork and cooperation. |

|
Community Service Award |
|
Recognition of any member for
an outstanding contribution to the community on or off duty. |

| |
|
|
|
Meritorious Unit Citations |
|
These are special one time only awards
that are
presented to members who participated in an incident of great magnitude
far above any normal emergency operation. The medal design is used only
once for each incident and will never be repeated for any future incident of a
magnitude that would warrant the issuance of this award.
