The City Clerk/Treasurer’s Office serves as the central
processing point for information as it is handled by various other departments.
There are 5 people in this department that serve the
citizens of Watertown.
The bulk of our activity centers around record
retention and payment processing.
is one of the few cities our size that does its own tax billing and collecting.
We have a three installment plan for payment and
have two people that serve as account clerks that collect most of these funds.
We also collect all payments for water/sewer bills.
Each year we collect approximately $30,000,000 in

We have one person that is responsible for this as
well as the accounting and Accounts Payable.
This person serves as a member or our housing
administration is another major responsibility of this office.
Although only held several times per year, this is
one of the most important functions this office performs.
