Leaf Collection & Brush Chipping Routes

LEAF COLLECTION SCHEDULE & ROUTES
FALL ONLY - OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER

The city’s leaf collection schedule is divided into four sections. The sections and links to maps are listed below:

Section I – 7 a.m. on the first Monday of the month

Section II – 7 a.m. on the second Monday of the month

Section III – 7 a.m. on the third Monday of the month

Section IV – 7 a.m. on the fourth Monday of the month

Leaf collection begins each week is the designated section. If that section is completed prior to the end of the week, we move to the next section through the end of that week. The next week leaf collection begins at the designated section, no matter where we ended the collection the prior week. (For example, if we finish Section I on Tuesday, we move to section II on Wednesday and finish the week in section II. The next week, we begin again in Section II, and so on.)

Basically three ways for leaf disposal:
1. Leaves could be put into compostable, paper bags and placed out by the street for your scheduled week. Only fall leaves can be placed into the paper bags for this curbside pick up, non leaf materials will be tagged and left at the curb.
2. Rake leaves to edge of boulevard, not in curb or street, and leaves are picked up per the schedule above.
3. Deliver your leaves to the Yard Waste site and dump your container/bag or leave your compostable bag in the correct leaf pile.  The Yard Waste site is located at 1507 Boomer Street and open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. (through December 3).

Monthly pick-up

Monthly pick-up

Can drop off filled bags at yard waste site

Benefits of bagging leaves include:

  • Raking and yard clean-up on your schedule, not the City’s leaf pick-up schedule (bags of leaves can easily be stored out of site until it’s time to put them out for the monthly leaf collection)
  • Keep leaves out of the streets and storm drains, preventing local flooding
  • Keep decomposing leaves out of streets and storm drains, reducing the amount of phosphorus and other nutrients flowing into local waterways via the storm system when it rains
  • Lower cost of annual leaf collection program

CURBSIDE BRUSH CHIPPING SCHEDULE - APRIL TO NOVEMBER

The City’s curbside brush chipping is provided on a monthly schedule. The City has been divided into four sections, with each section getting brush collection during a designated week every month. The sections are divided as follows:

Section III – 7 a.m. on the third Monday of the month

Section IV – 7 a.m. on the fourth Monday of the month

Brush must be out for collection by 7 a.m. Monday morning of the scheduled week, and collection will be provided once that week.  January/February Christmas tree collection is the only exception to this schedule.
