Classes offered are: the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program taught by certified W.S.I.'s.
Current levels of swimming include: Parent and Tot, Aqua Kids and Levels 1-5. Lifeguard Training classes are held throughout the year. Water Safety Instructor (W.S.I.) classes will be held as deemed necessary by the availability of instructors.
Interim classes are held between swim lesson dates, such as spring board diving, level 6, introduction to scuba and water exercise for kids.
Swimming Lessons are available to everyone!! All lessons are taught at the Watertown Indoor Pool which is located in Riverside Middle School at 131 Hall St. Each class is scheduled for eight 35 minute sessions with 5 minutes built in for parent - teacher interaction at the end of each session. Swim lessons are scheduled at a variety of dates and times so you can choose what fits your schedule best. Be sure to review the swim lessons course descriptions which briefly outline course content. Water Exercise activities offer many benefits including increased flexibility, strength and cardiovascular endurance. The buoyancy and resistance of water help to increase exercise benefits while decreasing impact-related injury and stress. You do not have to be a swimmer to participate in this program. Class Fees: See indoor pool schedule for fee. Schedules can be obtained at the indoor pool or the Park and Recreation Office.
Lap Swim: Preregistration is required; no drop in visits allowed. See Facebook for dates and times. Register for lap swim times on our RecDesk Website (https://watertownwi.recdesk.com/). Due to COVID-19 see restrictions below:
One swimmer per lane.
All participants must sign a waiver form issued by the Watertown Unified School District in order to use the facility (available at the pool at check-in station).
All participants must complete a symptom check and temperature check upon arrival at the pool.
50 minutes of swim time- please exit the water by 50 minutes past the hour.
Face masks (participants must bring their own) must be worn inside the facility, except in the pool water.
Social distancing/6 feet of separation required at all times.
Locker rooms will remain closed/changing areas will not be available. Please plan to wear your swimsuit to and from the pool.
Pool equipment will not be available- please bring your own kickboards, fins, etc. if you plan to use them.
Facility doors will not be unlocked early. No early arrivals or staying past reserved swim times.
