Tax Information

Tax payment information is not currently available online. 
To find out if taxes are paid on a specific property, contact the Treasurer's office at (920) 262-4010.

Property taxes are determined in late November or early December each year based on the levies of the Watertown Unified School District, City of Watertown, Dodge and Jefferson Counties, Madison Area Technical College and the State of Wisconsin.  Special assessments, special charges and delinquent utility bills (if applicable) are added to the tax amount for the total amount due.


Full Payment Option:
Pay the total amount of the tax due by JANUARY 31

Installment Option:      
Pay the amount of the first installment by JANUARY 31
Pay the amount of the second installment by APRIL 30
Pay the amount of the third installment by JULY 31
 Missing a payment on the installment plan causes the entire outstanding amount to be delinquent. 
Amounts outstanding after July 31 are turned over to the Treasurers of Jefferson and Dodge Counties.

Checks and cash are accepted in person at the Clerk/Treasurer's office in City Hall, 106 Jones Street.
